About Me

I am a Seattle Native and recently completed my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington where I specialized in Community Centered Integrative Practice. In addition to my coursework, as a graduate student I facilitated cultural competency trainings with various schools and organizations in the Seattle area as well as organized and mobilized my community to advocate for immigrant rights. Currently, I work on education policy at OneAmerica, a local nonprofit that advances the rights of immigrant populations.

In the summer of 2009, I spent 3 months working in a rural area of west India with women’s microfinance self-help groups. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a housing advocate for five years serving primarily immigrant and refugee families in crisis. I am passionate about social justice and working for the rights of immigrants and other marginalized populations. In 2010, I was fortunate enough to receive the Bonderman Fellowship through the University of Washington that sponsored my travels around the world.
